18일(금) 오후 7시 온라인 개최
12명의 STEM 분야 멘토 참여
재미한인과학기술자협회 남가주지부 (KSEA-SC회장 채은정)는STEM 전공 및 졸업 후 관련 분야 진로에 관심 있는 대학(원)생을 대상으로 커리어 멘토링 행사 (STEM Career Mentoring Roundtable Meeting)를 2022년 11월 18일(금) 오후 7시에 온라인으로 개최한다.
행사는 학계 및 산업체에 재직 중인 STEM 분야 멘토들이 참가해 전공, 진로 선택, 취업 등에 대한 지식과 정보를 공유한다.
KSEA-SC 회장인 채은정 교수 (CSULB)의 진행으로, 홍진기 교수(CSULB), 강지환 교수(CSULB), 이주림 연구원(NSAS JPL), 권석철 교수(CSULB), 헬렌 정 교수(CBU), 김현기 박사(3M), 에리카 김 엔지니어(Apple), 정원희 엔지니어(Blizzard Entertainment), 김태현 엔지니어(Amazon AWS), 이혜경 박사 (Cue Health), 고은빈 박사(Emerald Cloud Lab) 등 12명이 미팅을 이끈다.
전공 분야 별, 과학기술계의 트렌드, 전략적인 네트워크 방법, 공식적인 구인공고가 나기 전에 해야 할 사항, 문화적인 이유로 쉽게 간과할 수 있는 중요한 부분을 다루게 된다. 특히 멘토들의 성공뿐 아니라 실패 스토리를 공유해 이제까지 대중 상대 강연에서는 경험할 수 없는 인사이트가 공개될 것으로 보인다.

Join the online KSEA-SC STEM Mentoring Roundtable Meeting on November 18, 2022, at 7 pm to learn how to prepare for successful career development strategically by interacting with our prestigious scholars and professionals in multiple domains.
KSEA-SC chapter president, Eunjung Chae (CSULB), will lead the mentoring meeting with academic/industry expert mentors: Jingi Hong (CSULB) Jihwan Kang (CSULB), Jules (Julim) Lee (NASA JPL), Sean Kwon (CSULB), Helen Jung (CBU), Hyunki Kim (3M) Eunice Kang (Apple), Wonhee Jung (Blizzard Entertainment), Taehyun Kim (Amazon AWS), Haekyung Lee (Cue Health), and Eun Bin Go (Emerald Cloud Lab).
We will discuss many things that include:
- How to start preparing for Industry/academic positions
- The current technology and scientific trends in the professional field
- What you should say or not say during an interview
- How to lead and actively engage the interviewers
- Strategic networking skills in academy/industry
- Many critical insights in reviewing applications
All students at all levels (undergraduate, graduate) and post-doctoral scholars are welcome. The event will be online via Zoom (TBD) and will be notified to the “RSVP” list (https://forms.gle/zuuMnBfZncitS8CZ8).
